Curriculum Embedded Performance Tasks: Planning Support and Sample Tasks: The documents contained within are a work in progress, containing a basic framework for designing curriculum-embedded performance tasks/assessments in the classroom. The contents include a framework for planning, quality criteria for selecting/designing tasks, webinars to assist with planning, recommended readings, and sample tasks. If you select or design a task to implement, based on this framework, we would appreciate your feedback and/or willingness to share your tasks in the sample tasks bank.

Common Core ELA Professional Development Modules:

This series of modules is intended to be incorporated into professional learning community meetings over time; the research and practices contained within these modules is intended to be embedded in daily instruction.

Foundational Skills Module 1:

This module covers research and practices for the Common Core Foundational Skills Standards: Concepts of Print, Letter Knowledge and Phonemic Awareness. The module contains a pre and post assessment and includes voice-over and a self-paced design. It may be used in the context of Professional Learning Communities or for individual use. Educators can apply the research and practices contained within this module in their daily instruction over time.

This module covers research and practices for the Common Core for Foundational Skills Standards: Word Recognition, Phonics, and Fluency. A facilitator guide accompanies this module, which is intended for use in Professional Learning Communities over time. Educators can apply the research and practices contained within this module in daily instruction and share results/reflections during the PLC sessions.

Language and Vocabulary Development Module:

This module covers research and practices for the Common Core Language Standards. A facilitator guide accompanies this module, which is intended for use in Professional Learning Communities over time. Educators can apply the research and practices contained within this module in daily instruction and share results/reflections during the PLC sessions.

Integrating Close Reading Practices with Academic Writing Module Series:

This three part module series includes background on close reading experiences, planning for close reading experiences, and guidance on how to building close reading lesson with a connected writing task.
