Building Systems of Support for Every Student: Fulfilling the Promise of Act 173

On the first day of the VSA/VCSEA conference, Agency of Education staff will present:

  • An SU-Level Approach to Implementing Best Instructional Practices in Act 173 Using the VTmtss Framework
  • Engaging in Problems of Practice for Examining an SU-Level Approach Implementing Best Instructional Practices into Act 173 Using the VTmtss Framework

On the second day, the AOE Technical Assistance and Professional Learning team will be available on request for additional Act 173 Technical Assistance.

Child Nutrition Programs Summer Institute

Audience: School Food Service, Administrators, Principals, Business Managers, Nurses, Farm to School Coordinators, Child/Adult Care Provide

Registration for the Child Nutrition Summer Institute is now open.  This year we are offering over 50 half-day, full-day and multi-day classes!  You may register for just one class, a whole day, or multiple days.  Learn more about the Summer Institute and register online.  The registration deadline for most classes is July 26th, however the deadline for some classes (including the New Manager’s class) is June 30th.  Early registration deadlines are noted on the class descriptions.

Tri-State Child Nutrition Programs Conference

Date:  May 2, 2017 (8:00 am – 5:00 pm) and May 3, 2017 (8:00 am – 3:45 pm)

We are pleased to announce the 5th Annual Tri-State Child Nutrition Programs Conference being held on May 2 and 3, 2017. This year’s conference is hosted by Vermont Child Nutrition Programs, in partnership with Maine Child Nutrition Programs and New Hampshire Child Nutrition Programs, and will be held at the Sheraton Burlington Hotel in South Burlington, Vermont. The conference will begin on May 2 with a variety of optional “Pre-Conference” sessions. These full-day and half-day sessions will allow participants to delve more deeply into important program topics such as food safety, financial management and procurement. This pre-conference day also allows us to offer the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Class and Certification Exam and the School Nutrition Specialist (SNS) Credentialing Exam.  Learn more about the Tri-State Conference and register online. Learn more about the SNS Credentialing Exam, and to register to take the exam. You must pre-register with School Nutrition Association if you plan to take the exam.

Transition and Career Planning Conference

The 12th annual 2017 Transition and Career Planning Conference for K-12 Professionals will address highlighting the importance of “igniting the imagination” as students, educators, and parents create the developmental pathway through personalized learning, proficiencies, and the strengths, challenges, and career aspirations of each student.  This year’s conference is sponsored by Vermont Student Assistance Corporation, Vermont State GEAR UP, Vermont Agency of Education, VocRehab Vermont, and the Vermont School Counselors Association.

The morning session will focus on the new ESSA requirements on needs assessment planning and the afternoon workshops with highlight specific new and continuing ESSA requirement. All CFP Leaders are strongly encouraged to attend. Registration fee is $50 per person and includes a continental breakfast and lunch.
