Teaching Strategies Gold Introductory Trainings (Morrisville)

The Agency of Education is offering free Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) Introductory trainings. TSG is the recommended formative assessment measure in Vermont. As a prequalified prekindergarten program, providers are required to use TSG to document a child’s progress. This free 12-hour training is part of the Early Learning Challenge Grant. Space is limited to 20 participants in each session. Register online.

Also, we will be setting up one-day TSG refresher trainings for people who have taken the 2-day Intro training already, and we are trying to determine where to hold these trainings.  Please take this short survey if you are interested in attending one of these refresher trainings.

Introduction to the Classroom Assessment Scoring System (CLASS) Webinar

This one hour webinar, to be held on March 23, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., will provide an overview of the CLASS assessment tool for Pre-k through third grade. The CLASS is an evidence-based tool which measures the interactions in classrooms that lead to increased learning outcomes for children. The CLASS is now being used as part of the STARS system in Vermont, as well as for professional development and/or evaluation for Pre-k - 12 teachers here and across the country. NGSS Performance Assessment Workshop Series

 During this series of three workshops, participants will be introduced to the NGSS bundles of performance expectations, develop performance assessments within an instructional sequence, apply quality criteria to their performance assessment, and construct a proficiency-based single-point rubric. Our goals are to increase understanding of the expectations within NGSS and support collaboration among science teacher leaders/coaches from across the state. This series is limited to 25 participants who commit to attending all three sessions.

Teaching Strategies Gold Introductory Training

The Agency of Education is offering free Teaching Strategies Gold (TSG) Introductory training. TSG is the recommended formative assessment measure in Vermont. Prequalified prekindergarten programs are required to use TSG to document children’s progress. The 12-hour training sessions are offered through the state’s Early Learning Challenge Grant.

There are 3 two-day sessions held on sequential Saturdays. Participants are expected to attend both days of the training. Each day will be from 8:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. 

Space is limited to 20 participants. Register for Teaching Strategies Gold Introductory Training.

Sessions include:

  • Session 1: Saturdays: January 21 and January 28, Holiday Inn, South Burlington 
    • Canceled. New date to be determined. 
  • Session 2: Saturdays: March 11 and March 18, Counseling Services of Addison County, Middlebury 
    • Session 2 is full. 
  • Session 3: Saturdays, April 1 and April 8, Location TBD, White River Junction
