Teaching Strategies GOLD Introductory Training (Brattleboro)

Dates: June 20, 2018 and June 21, 2018

Location: Holiday Inn, Brattleboro, VT

Introductory trainings are appropriate for new Teaching Strategies GOLD users.  Discover how to make the most of MyTeachingStrategies™ as you explore the Teach, Assess, Develop, Report, and Family areas. Learn to address the objectives for development and learning, conduct objective observations of children, determine what children know and can do, and use assessment information to plan developmentally appropriate experiences. Participants are expected to attend both days of the training from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Please note: The minimum number of participants for trainings is 15 and the maximum is 20. Purposeful Lesson Planning for Language Learners Workshop

This two-day learning opportunity will enhance participants' lesson planning processes. Specifically, participants will focus on creating contexts for meaningful language use within settings that integrate content and academic language learning. Throughout this process, participants will explore elements of the WIDA Standards Framework in depth as they design instruction that promotes students' content learning and language development. Register online.

CACFP New Manager's Training

This training is a great opportunity for new directors, managers, cooks or any other CACFP staff to receive in depth training regarding CACFP. Participants will learn about recordkeeping, determining income eligibility, expense logs, claims submission, sponsorship responsibilities, menu planning, meal production records, portion size, meal service, basic kitchen, and food safety requirements. It is also a great refresher course for anyone who has participated in the program for many years.
