Purpose
The FY 2001 Vermont Teacher
and Support Staff Report presents data on student/teacher ratios, teacher and staff
FTEs, and salaries in the elementary and secondary school system. These data are
used to calculate class size and average salaries in Vermont, and are reported to
the National Center for Education Statistics and to the Vermont School Boards Association.
Data used in this report were collected in the Vermont Department of Education’s
2000-2001 Fall Data Collection. This collection is designed to gather information
on students, teachers and staff in each of the state’s 382 public schools, 5 "public
acting" independent schools, and 60 supervisory districts/unions.
For the purposes of this report the term "school" will be used in reference
to the responding public and public acting schools which submitted data. |
