In the Fall of 2007, the Vermont State Board of Education embarked on a public engagement process regarding the future of education in Vermont. This process was kicked off by the release of The Future of Education in Vermont, a transformation document adopted by the State Board of Education.
Much of the time on the next few State Board monthly meeting agendas was dedicated to conversations between State Board members and representatives of various constituent groups, including students, parents, teachers, principals, superintendents, school board members, legislators and other political leaders, representatives of the business community and other constituent groups. In addition, the Commissioner held regional conversations with students. |
