EDUCATOR LICENSING

2013 RENEWALS

Renewal packets have been sent out. If you do not receive yours within the next two weeks, it has probably been returned by the post office. Please do not call the licensing office until after February 28th as we will not have received returned packets. If you have moved and not changed your address with us, please email your updated information to AOE.LicensingInfo@state.vt.us (include your old address and the last four digits of your SSN).

Public Comment Opportunity - Endorsement Changes

The VSBPE adopted new professional standards for educators in 2011 and is seeking comments on the content and clarity of its document introducing these standards to the field, A Vision for Teaching, Leading, and Learning: Core Teaching and Leadership Standards for Vermont Educators. This book replaces the “apple book” and will be used by both educators preparing to enter the field and those seeking continued professional growth. Please provide feedback on the proposed book to Mary Beth McNulty, Coordinator of Professional Standards, at marybeth.mcnulty@state.vt.us.

The Vermont Agency of Education's Licensing Office administers regulations and procedures. These procedures have been established to evaluate the credentials of prospective educators and to ensure that they meet specified preparation standards and requirements. Regulations and procedures are established by the Vermont Standards Board for Professional Educators (VSBPE). Vermont's regulations governing educator preparation and licensing require professional employees of all public elementary, middle and secondary schools to hold state licensure appropriate for their assignment(s).

The licensing office accepts requests for information via e-mail to AOE.LicensingInfo@state.vt.us. E-mails must include a full name, complete mailing address, and telephone number with area code.
