The Department
of Education is currently housed in three locations: Montpelier and in Berlin on Granger Road and on U.S. Route 302. |

Montpelier:

The main office of the Vermont Department of Education is located in the State Office Building at 120 State Street in Montpelier, Vermont. The State Office Building is open to the public from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The building (which also houses the Department of Motor Vehicles) is directly opposite the Vermont State House. The building is handicapped accessible from the west entrance.
Department office spaces are located on the 4th and 5th floors and include the following divisions:

(Data Analysis & Reporting, Curriculum & Assessment, Accountability)

(Early Education, Elementary/Middle Grades, High School, Technical Education, Adult Education)

Berlin (526 Granger Road):
The Berlin (Granger Road) office of the department is located at 526 Granger Road in Berlin, and houses staff for the following divisions:

Safe & Healthy Schools
(Child Nutrition, Substance Abuse Prevention, Safe Schools, Coordinated School Health)

Student Support
Special Education, Interagency Coordination, Monitoring, Educational Support Systems)

Independent and Federal Programs
(Home & Independent Schools, Federal Programs, Postsecondary, Professional Development)
The Berlin (Granger Road) office is open to the public from 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The department shares building space with Occupational Health and Rehabilitation, North Star Gymnastics Training Center, and Associates in Family Health, in a building that formerly housed the AstroBowl. The building is handicapped accessible.
Enter the building using the stairs or the elevator in the front. Department offices are located to your immediate left.

Berlin (1311 U.S. Route 302): (Added 4/23/08)
The Berlin (Route 302) offices are housed in the large building located between Burger King and the Steak House on the Barre-Montpelier Road. This building also houses the Vermont Lottery Commission. The Berlin (Route 302) office hosts the following divisions:

Educator Quality
(Educator Licensing, Professional Standards Programs)

Finance and Administrative Division
(Business Management, School Construction, IT, Finance Programs)
The front entrance to department spaces is locate in the middle and is distinguished by a double door. Signs will be posted in the near future. The building is handicapped accessible from the front entrance.
