about the state’s schools and the laws and regulations that govern the state education

Hiring decisions and salary negotiations
for K-12 public school teachers, administrators, paraeducators and substitute teachers
are handled on the supervisory union/district level in Vermont. The Department of
Education is not involved in educator hiring decisions.
To better meet the needs of schools and of those seeking education positions in Vermont,
56 out of 60 supervisory unions/districts use an online recruiting service called
SchoolSpring.com. The service is provided by the Vermont School Boards Association
in partnership with the Vermont Department of Education. To use SchoolSpring.com's

School Listings)
Job candidates may search SchoolSping public school job listings from across the state. Registered users have the ability to fill
out an online application for positions listed by all participating schools and post
a résumé to the online résumé bank. |

Candidates interested in a teaching position at an approved or recognized independent
(private) school, please contact that school directly. Contact information is available
in the Independent Schools Directory, which may be downloaded as a *PDF file on the
