ADULT EDUCATION & LITERACY:
ADULT DIPLOMA PROGRAM (ADP) ENROLLMENT AND ELIGIBILITY
(Updated 7/28/06)

Adults may earn a high school diploma from their local school by completing performance based projects that demonstrate academic skills and meet educational standards. The Vermont Adult Diploma Program offers adults an alternative option for earning a high school diploma through a structured portfolio process approved and validated by the Vermont Department of Education. Use the links below to view information about enrollment, eligibility and details about the ADP process.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE AND HOW TO ENROLL
""

  County Map of Vermont
The Adult Diploma Program is designed specifically for adults with experience in meeting family and work responsibilities. ADP works best with adults age 21 or older who have been out of school for several years. Persons age 18-20 years of age can enroll with an age waiver from their high school. Students can work at their own pace and at a location convenient to them, tailor assignments to fit with their own experiences and needs, and receive individualized feedback and support from the ADP assessor.

To enroll in ADP, an age-eligible adult has to meet with a local ADP assessor. This assessor can explain more about the program, help secure an age waiver if necessary and schedule a time to begin the
diagnostic phase.

To find the assessor in the adult education and literacy center nearest you, click on a county from the map.

Fees
There are no fees charged to an adult who enrolls in the Adult Diploma Program.
