STATE & NATIONAL DATA:
NECAP STUDENT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT RESULTS
REPORTED BY SUBGROUPS
FOR VERMONT PUBLIC SCHOOLS (
E - L)
(Updated 2/5/08)

The New England Common Assessment Program (NECAP) reading, mathematics and writing tests are administered annually during the first three weeks of October in grades 3 through 8 and 11 in reading and mathematics, and in grades 5, 8 and 11 in writing. Test results reflect the knowledge and skills (known as Grade Level Expectations) that proficient students should have mastered by the end of the previous school year. Results are reported for all students and the following student groups: gender; major racial/ethnic categories; students with disabilities; economically disadvantaged students; students with limited English proficiency; and migrant students. Results for grades 3-8 are reported for each school as a whole, while grade 11 results are reported separately. Results are only publicly reported when there are more than 10 students in the group. When the district for accountability purposes (*) contains multiple schools, district data are also provided.

* As of July 2004, Act 114 changed the definition of local educational agency (LEA) for accountability purposes from the supervisory union/district to the town or union school district.

NOTE: NECAP grade 11 assessments were administered for the first time in October 2007. Schools with grade 11 results are indicated in bold print in the 2006-2007 report column.
