Message from the Commissioner – Minor Changes to Driver Education Program Approval Process PDF
This memo from Commissioner Vilaseca addresses that he has made a decision to ask the Legislature to amend 16 V.S.A. § 1045 so that the DOE will no longer be required to approve local driver education programs from our office, but rather, that superintendents have the responsibility of approving those programs. Additionally, it seems there has been some misinformation provided to the field about Commissioner Vilaseca's intent. His intent is to try and preserve driver education programs and keep them as part of high school offerings, but to have approval of these programs handled in a different way. |
