PREKINDERGARTEN ASSESSMENTS REQUIRED FOR ACT 62:
VERMONT'S STATE AGREEMENTS FOR ONLINE REPORTING

INFORMATION FOR ONLINE REPORTING
""

Act 62 requires publicly funded prekindergarten programs to report child progress data for all children who are included in a district’s school census. Districts and providers must use either the Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum (CCDC) or Work Sampling System (WSS) to measure child progress starting in 2009-2010.

There are two versions of CCDC and WSS: a printed version and a Web-based version. Either version is of these tools is acceptable and fulfills the child progress requirement. In an effort to reduce the costs for the Web-based version of CCDC and WSS, the department has entered into agreements with Teaching Strategies and Pearson, the publishers for CCDC and WSS, respectively. Vermont’s “umbrella agreement” significantly decreases the per child/per year costs of the web-based versions of these tools.

If your district or program wants to subscribe to the Web-based version of CCDC or WSS, find detailed information on how to apply for this reduced rate below. Note: Using the Web-based version of WSS or CCDC is an OPTION; the paper versions are also acceptable.

  • Creative Curriculum Developmental Continuum (CCDC) – Web-based Version
The Web-based version of CCDC (referred to as cc.net) includes progress checklists, a digital portfolio for each child, the capacity to run various types of reports, curriculum planning tools, and optional parent access to limited sections of the Web site. Under the Vermont state agreement, the cost of the subscription is $12.95 per child/per year. This cost includes the Forerunners and SNAP, a program that calculates the Early Childhood Outcomes required for children on IEP’s.
