OVERVIEW
   
  Media relations and many public information inquiries are handled through the agency's Education & Public Information Officer (PIO). The PIO serves as the initial point of contact for questions from reporters and journalists from print media, radio, and television. The PIO works with agency personnel to coordinate contact with all media, including the development of press releases, tracking articles and news stories that appear in the media, and tracking staff contact with the media. General inquiries from the public are also often directed through this person.
