BARRE, Vt. – The Vermont Agency of Education in partnership with the University of Vermont will celebrate the 2017 University of Vermont (UVM) Outstanding Teacher Day on October 12, 2017.
The event will also honor the 2018 Vermont Teacher of the Year, Linda Cloutier-Namdar, M.Ed., an Essex High School English teacher. The celebration is scheduled for 3 p.m. in the Grand Maple Ballroom, Davis Center, on the UVM campus.
Secretary of Education Rebecca Holcombe will speak at the celebration.
Dr. Sara Doncaster, Music Director at Lake Region Union High School in Barton, the 2018 Vermont Teacher of the Year Alternate; and Karen Greene, a high school English teacher at Middlebury Union High School, 2018 Vermont Teacher of the Year Distinguished Finalist, also will be honored.
