Individuals with Disabilities Education Act Part B (IDEA-B) Funding

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act is the federal law establishing procedures for special education services for pre-school children, elementary, and secondary students. The federal law under Part B provides for funding to states, "...to assist them to provide special education and related services to children with disabilities."

Public Comment on the IDEA B Grant Application

The Agency of Education is seeking public comment on the state's annual Vermont Part B Federal grant application, which guides supports and services for students aged 3-22 who have, or are at risk of having, special needs. The annual Vermont Part B Federal grant application is now posted for 60 days for public review. As required, the Agency of Education will be accepting public comments for the 30 days from March 12 to April 12, 2015. FY-2015 Supplement to IDEA-B Assurance Package

Each year supervisory unions must submit a Supplement to the IDEA-B Assurance Packet. Forms must be submitted by May 1, 2015.
