The Agency of Education thanks all those individuals who submitted comments during the Digital Learning Plan comment period. The comment period eneded on September 29, 2017. If you would like to review the draft, please do so at: draft Vermont's statewide 2018 - 2021 Digital Learning Plan.
Locals are still required to submit their own Digital Learning Plans to the Agency of Education, which are due on June 30, 2018. This released draft of the state Digital Learning Plan contains a suggested template section.
This requirement is an amendment to the Technology Plan requirement in the past. The Agency of Education still sees tremendous value in having Supervisory Unions, Unified Districts and Supervisory Districts create and turn in a three-year plan for how technology will support learning. The new plan, now known as the Vermont Digital Learning Plan, will be on a three-year cycle and will be required to be turned in at the start of each 3 year period. While some plans in the past were on a different cycle, all will be on the same cycle, meaning there should be a submission from each SU or SD in this next iteration. Some have already passed in plans from the earlier request. To reiterate, plans will be due June 30, 2018. Webinars and other training materials will commence in October 2017 to further support this work. The final Digital Learning Plan will be posted around the beginning of December 2017. We will also be seeking a peer review committee to evaluate submitted plans.
