Module 4: Creating Fluent Readers launches March 8, 2024
Audience: Superintendents, Administrators, Curriculum Directors, Literacy Coaches, All Educators
Our new professional learning module "Creating Fluent Readers" launches on March 8, 2024. This is the fourth module in the “Building a Strong Foundation for Lifelong Literacy Success” series. Dive into the essence of fluency with "Introduction to Fluency", exploring its pivotal role in comprehension and the sequential development of reading skills. Learn evidence-based strategies for fluency instruction and effective assessment methods in "Fluency Assessment." By the end, grasp the reciprocal relationship between fluency and reading components, proficiently diagnose fluency levels, and implement personalized interventions. Early Warning System Virtual Workshop: How to Create SU/SD EWS Teams
Audience: Superintendents, Principals, Teachers, Interventionists, CTE Directors, Data and IT Managers
This workshop is part of the continuing professional learning series on the development of district-wide Early Warning Systems (EWS). This session will provide a guide to establishing EWS teams at the SU/SD level. Activities and topics include establishing the base structures for your team, planning activities the team should complete, and establishing a dedicated team of staff who will work together to identify students in need of additional supports, assign interventions, and monitor progress. The workshop will take place on Tuesday March 12, 2024, from 1-2:30 p.m. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP for the EWS workshop online.

Peer Review Panelists Wanted
Audience: Currently Licensed Vermont Educators
The Agency of Education’s Peer Review program needs licensed educators to serve as Panelists. Panelists receive $175 per interview. The work of a panelist involves evaluating a candidate’s portfolio (approximately 2-4 hours) and participating in additional follow up questions or reviews of evidence, as needed. If you are interested, complete the online Small Scale Education Contract Survey by March 15, 2024. All endorsement areas are welcome to submit if interested.
