Homeless Education Grant for FY 18

Purpose:  To ensure that children and youth experiencing homelessness have equal access to the same free, appropriate public education, including public preschool education, provided to other children and youth with the opportunity to meet the same challenging state content and state student performance standards to which all students are held. McKinney-Vento requires the removal of barriers to the enrollment, attendance, and success in school of homeless children and youth.

Minimum Grant Request: $5,000

Maximum Amount per LEA: $20,000

Administrative Costs: Up to 5% of grant total

Individual or Consortium Application: The Agency of Education (AOE) will accept applications from individual LEAs or a consortium of LEAs. If applying for a consortium grant, the amount the consortium requests cannot exceed $20,000 per LEA member.
