The State Board of Education was asked to convey its position on the method of establishing the census rate in H.897. In its regular meeting on March 21, 2018, the State Board of Education voted to concur with the proposal by the Agency of Education regarding the method for setting the FY2025 census rate. Specifically, the State Board supports legislation that would delegate to the Secretary responsibility, after consultation with the State Board, to make a recommendation to the General Assembly for the FY2025 census rate.
