Multi-tiered System of Supports Office Hours

Audience: Members of SU/SD School Leadership Teams, 2018 BEST Summer Institute MTSS Strand Participants
The Vermont Agency of Education Multi-tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Team is hosting the first in a series of online monthly office hours. These office hours will be used to address questions from the field, foster networking opportunities, collect feedback and develop common language around Vermont's multi-tiered system of support for all students. The MTSS Office Hours will be on the last Thursday of every month from 3 to 4 p.m. The first session is scheduled for July 26, 2018. Participants need to register for the office hours.

Save the Date: Vermont Inclusive Practices Learning Day

Audience: Special Educators, General Education Teachers, Principals, Superintendents, Special Education Coordinators
Save the date for a professional learning day on October 29, 2018 in Castleton, or on October 30, 2018 in Burlington. Learn about including students with extensive needs in your grade level class, curriculum, and activities through Multi-tiered Systems of Support (MTSS). Hear from Vermont grade level and special educators who make inclusive education a reality in their schools. Dive deep into Alternate Assessment data and what it means for the students in your school. Consider attending as a school leadership team or interdisciplinary support team. Registration information forthcoming in September.

Grant Applications for Low Incidence Disabilities

Audience: Individuals or agencies who serve students with low incidence disabilities
The Vermont Agency of Education is taking grant applications for services related to the technical assistance and professional development of educational teams and families of individuals who are blind or visually impaired, hard of hearing or deaf-blind or have low incidence disabilities. The grant application for low incidence disabilities is due July 27, 2018.

Professional Learning: Partnerships for Literacy and Learning Summer Institute

Partnerships for Literacy and Learning's 2018 Summer Institute will be held August 1-3, 2018. The institute includes three days of workshops on writing, reading and critical thinking with a keynote from Gravity Goldberg on Customizing Instruction for All. The institute has something for teachers at every level and administrators too. This institute is also offered for graduate credit.  Group rates are available for teams of five or more.
