Springfield School District Recognized for Outstanding Use of Interim Assessments
Audience: Educators
The Smarter Balanced Consortia recognized Springfield School District for outstanding use of the interim assessments in reading/language arts and math. The consortia created a video highlighting the efforts of the school system to utilize these assessments as part of a local comprehensive assessment system and provide educators across the nation with an example of how these materials can be used to improve student outcomes. This national recognition is a tremendous honor for the school system and the state.

Sample Graduation Requirements for Social Studies Available
Audience: All
Sample graduation requirements with performance indicators for Social Studies are available on the Agency of Education website. They are aligned with the College, Career, and Civic Life (C3) Framework for Social Studies State Standards and the result of six months of work from dedicated K-16 teachers from across the state.

ALiS Online Licensing System: Educator Employment Update
Audience: Superintendents, Principals, Educators
All educators holding Vermont licensure are required to update their employment information in their online accounts. Due to school mergers, several educators will need to revise their employment listed in their profile. Please review our tutorial on updating your employment. Have questions? Save the Date: Annual VTPBIS Leadership Forum
The Annual VTPBIS Leadership Forum will be held on October 11, 2018, at the Killington Grand Resort Hotel. This is a great opportunity for new and experienced PBIS Leadership Teams to learn more about sustainability and evidence-based practices. Stern Center Announces eLearning for Students
The Stern Center now offers customized remote instruction online via its new eLearning program. This is a great opportunity for long-distance clients who can now take advantage of the exceptional instruction provided at its Williston location by engaging in an online learning platform thanks to generous support from IBM. The Stern Center marks its 35th anniversary this year as a leader in providing customized instruction to students of all ages in a wide range of areas. eLearning enables the Stern Center to serve learners regardless of where they live, thus helping more students reach their potential.
