BARRE – The Vermont Lottery and Vermont Agency of Education announce Alburgh Community Education Center, of Alburgh, Vermont, a K-8 public school, as the Fall 2015 winner of the Educate/Innovate Grant Program. This is the second round of what is now a twice-annual award.
The program, funded by the Vermont Lottery, will provide a cart of Chromebooks to the school in support of their proposal, which has intermediate grade students working with a nationally recognized program, Journey North, to study Whooping Crane migrations. The project proposed will integrate multiple core curriculums as the student’s research, graph and exhibit their understandings of Whooping Crane migration patterns. Through Journey North, it will also be possible to connect with scientists and researchers directly involved in the migration study.
