We are excited to launch the Vermont School Safety Initiative electronic needs assessment
survey, which is the first step in Phase 1 of the State of Vermont’s Homeland Security School
Safety and Emergency Preparedness Grant. As I noted in my memo dated April 25, 2019, the
Vermont Agency of Education and the Vermont Department of Public Safety are partnering
with Margolis Healy on a 16-month project to assist in enhancing the level of emergency
preparedness for Vermont schools.
Margolis Healy will use the data collected in this survey to identify schools that will benefit
from training and support in developing and exercising emergency operations plans (EOPs).
They will also use this data to help customize the delivery of this training to the needs of Vermont schools.
