In order to support the implementation of Act 173, and in particular, the special education rule changes scheduled to take effect in July of 2022, the Agency of Education, and Student Supports Division is offering a series of upcoming supports. Over the following months, expect to see webinars, guidance documents, and tools detailing expectations and impacts for education in Vermont and office hour sessions to answer questions about content, talk about applications to LEA (Local Education Agency) systems, and network with each other around current practices.
The changes to educational practices will require a school wide effort and participation from professionals across the educational spectrum. It is recommended that a diverse and inclusive team (including both special and general education representatives) review each set of resources and participate in upcoming events.
This will be a live webpage that will be updated as links for resources and office hour sessions become available. Updates and changes will be announced but please continue to check back for the most up to date information.
