The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21C) Grant Application Release - Second Notification

Audience: All
The Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21C) Grant Application, with an estimated annual available minimum of $650,000, is now open for the purpose of providing comprehensive, high-quality afterschool and summer learning opportunities. Investments are for five years. Virtual applicant trainings for teams will be held on Oct. 16 (Part 1) and Nov. 20 (Part 2), 2024, from 9 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. E-letters of Intent are due Nov. 22, 2024. Applications are due Jan. 24, 2025, in the GMS system. A paper copy of the grant application can be viewed on the Afterschool and Summer Programs web page. 2024-2025 Family Engagement Networking Series  

Audience: Family Engagement Coordinators and Liaisons, School and District Administrators, Consolidated Federal Programs Leads, Community Organization Personnel   
Please join the 2024-2025 Family Engagement Networking Series: Family Engagement as a Strategy for Improving Belonging and Well-Being. At the Oct. 10, 2024, sessionImproving Outcomes for All Students: Family Engagement Strategies and Title I, guest Jessie Murray, State Title I Director, will clarify the requirements of parent/family engagement for Title I programs and share examples from the field from 1-2 p.m. These are informal monthly virtual sessions facilitated by the AOE Vermont Multi-Tiered System of Supports (VTmtss) Team for family engagement colleagues to connect, hear updates, learn of resources, share strategies, and discuss problems of practice regarding family engagement.

Vermont Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (VTmtss) Office Hours

Audience: Principals, Superintendents, Administrators, MTSS Coordinators 
Please join the new VTmtss Office Hours series, facilitated by the Agency of Education (AOE) Vermont Multi-tiered System of Supports (VTmtss) Team. The series will focus on VTmtss updates, tools, processes, and systems to support the field and will be held every third Thursday from 3-4 p.m. The Oct. 17, 2024, Office Hour will focus on Educational Support Teams (ESTs) for Middle and High School settings. Future sessions will review VTmtss survey data analysis and application to decision-making, Section 504 processes, and more. Read Vermont Launch Webinar Available Online - Register Today for Oct. 8 Local Capacity Building Session

The AOE has collaborated closely with education partners—teachers, curriculum leaders, superintendents and the Vermont Literacy Advisory Council —to understand the needs and opportunities for enhancing literacy instruction across the state. This collaboration has shaped Read Vermont, ensuring it addresses the most pressing needs identified by Vermont’s educators. We invite you to register today to join us on Oct. 8, 2024, from 3:30-4:30 p.m. to learn more about upcoming opportunities for local capacity building and additional details about Read Vermont.
