This two-day learning opportunity will enhance participants' lesson planning processes. Specifically, participants will focus on creating contexts for meaningful language use within settings that integrate content and academic language learning. Throughout this process, participants will explore elements of the WIDA Standards Framework in depth as they design instruction that promotes students' content learning and language development. Participants will learn about recordkeeping, determining income eligibility, expense logs, claims submission, sponsorship responsibilities, menu planning, meal production records, portion size, meal service, basic kitchen, and food safety requirements. It is also a great refresher course for anyone who has participated in the program for many years. This training can count toward your annual training requirements. Registration for the BEST Plus 2.0 assessment training for new administrators is now open.
This training will prepare participants to administer the BEST Plus 2.0 assessment of English language proficiency of adult English language learners.
Date: Friday, December 1, 2017
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with a lunch break. PLEASE BRING A BAG LUNCH.

Join this all-day intensive session to prepare your program for the changes to the Child and Adult Care Food Program meal pattern that will take effect October 1, 2017. We will discuss the updated changes to the meal pattern in depth with hands on activities and recipes to prepare you for the implementation of the new meal pattern. The training will be held in-person at our office in Barre. The trainings will be from 9:00 am ~ 3:30 pm, and participants will earn 6 hours of continuing education credits. You will be on your own for lunch from 12 until 12:45. This training is free!
