Continuous Improvement Planning Workgroup Sessions - CANCELLED

The Agency of Education is offering a free opportunity to engage in a collaborative workgroup series with the purpose of learning and applying the continuous improvement process for developing, implementing, and submitting continuous improvement plans.  There are three sessions in this learning series. 

Organizing and Planning for Continuous Improvement Using an Improvement Science Approach

Content: During each workgroup sessions, participants will engage in collaborative learning about the improvement science approach to continuous improvement, as well as the processes and practices within the phases of the continuous improvement process.

Audience: Ideally SU/SD teams comprised of the superintendent and/or directors of curriculum, a principal, and at least one educator. Maximum 5 per team.

Dates: September 7, 2017; December 5, 2017; March 8, 2018 - December & March dates have been CANCELLED

Each session will be held from 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM   Please come prepared with your own beverages and food for the day or feel free to purchase locally.  There is a limit of 35 people per session; an additional series will be added if needed.

Location: Agency of Education, 219 North Main Street, Barre, VT 05641- 3rd Floor, Conference Room 304

Cost: FREE

Design: In-person sessions include co-learning and co-design opportunities, followed by an action period during which time participants apply learning in their school settings through developing their continuous improvement plans.

Summer Professional Development Opportunity: 3D Printing Workshop from Digital Harbor

Audience: Principals, Career and Technical Center Directors, Curriculum Coordinators, Tech Coordinators

Date: July 12 - 12, 2017

Through a joint venture between the VT Agency of Education, Rutland City Schools and Digital Harbor, there will be a three-day 3D Printer Educator workshop held at Rutland High School on July 10 - 12, 2017.  The cost of the workshop is $2100 initially, with a reduction in price if there are a larger number of participants.  Price includes training, some meals, and a 3D Printer with some support tools (valued at $600).   For an additional fee, you can earn graduate credit.  There may be lodging options if needed.  Register for the 3D Printing Workshop.  A final determination of price will be made in mid-May. The deadline to register is May 12, 2017.

Adult Education and Literacy Grant Applicant Workshop

The Vermont Agency of Education seeks one or more local providers of Adult Education and Literacy Services to carry out the purposes of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). This workshop will provide an overview of requirements and allow time for team planning and individual assistance.
