This federally required Administrative Review is Child Nutrition Program's assessment of your school food authority's administration of the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and other school nutrition programs. The objectives of the Administrative Review are to:
- Determine whether your School Food Authority meets program requirements,
- Provide technical assistance,
- Secure any needed corrective action, and
- Assess fiscal action, if applicable.
The review process is conducted over several months and involves both off-site assessment work (prior to the onsite visit), as well as onsite visits to your central office and all of the meal sites selected for review. Evaluations made during the off-site assessment phase determine the focus and extent of the onsite review.

Administrative Review (AR) Summaries
State Agency Transparency Requirement Section 207 of the HHFKA amended section 22 of the NSLA (42 U.S.C. 1769c) to require State agencies to report the final results of the administrative review to the public in an accessible, easily understood manner in accordance with guidelines promulgated by the Secretary. The final rule at 7 CFR 210.18(m) requires the State agency to post a summary of the most recent final administrative review results for each SFA on the State agency's publicly available website, and allows the State agency to strongly encourage each SFA to post a summary on the SFA's public website.
